Our Beliefs

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the infallible and inerrant Word of God. It is our supreme authority and source of guidance. The Bible is composed of sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament. The bible was written by man under the inspiration of God. The BIble speaks with the authority of God, but also reflects the backgrounds, styles, and vocabularies of the human writers. The Bible is the record of God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of God’s instruction. Because God can not lie, the Bible is completely perfect and reliable, so we must let it judge us instead of us judging it.

God

We believe in the Trinity, the deity and supreme authority of God the Father, the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, and the deity and empowering work of the Holy Spirit. There is one and only living and true God. He is the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections.

● God the Father God the Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and history for the purpose of His grace. All that He created is dependent on Him. He is all powerful, all loving, and all wise. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. He is fatherly in His attitude and teaching towards all mankind.

● Jesus Christ Jesus Christ is the eternal son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus he was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus perfectly revealed and fulfilled the will of God, taking upon himself the demands and necessities of human nature completely with mankind yet without sin. He lived a life in perfect obedience to the Father and willing atoned for the sins of all mankind, by dying on the cross as mankind's substitute. He was raised for the dead on the third day following his crucifixion. He was raised in a glorified body and appeared to his disciples. He ascended into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of the Father.

● Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He was sent into this world, by the power of the Father and Son to apply to mankind the saving work of Christ. Through illumination he enables man (humans) to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and gives the spiritual gifts, which are used to serve and glorify the one and true God. The Holy Spirit’s power and control are received by faith, making it possible for the believer to lead a life of Christ-like character and to bear fruit for the glory of God. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, fellowship, discipleship, and ministry.

Salvation

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ: his death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human effort. The central purpose of God’s revelation in the Bible is to call all people into fellowship with Himself. Salvation involves the redemption of man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by his own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer.

Marriage & Family

We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as a male or female. The two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and the nature of God. We believe marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards, and the means for procreation of the human race. Anything outside of God’s design is sin and breaks the heart of God.

Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Parents are to demonstrate to their children God’s pattern for marriage. Parents are to teach their children spiritual and moral values and to lead them, through consistent lifestyle examples and loving discipline, to make choices based on biblical truth. Children are to honor and obey their parents.

The Church

The Church (Body of Christ) is composed of all true believers of Chist who have been reborn through him and therefore adopted into God’s family and co-heirs with Christ. The church (local gathering of believers) is a worshiping body which seeks to keep Christ’s ordinances and fulfill his mission to be the light for the lost and hope of the hopeless.
